To Our Patients and the Community

in Updates

Physical Therapy of Los Gatos is open. We are here, in-person or by telehealth, to help you stay on course to reach your health goals.

Call us if you’ve suffered an injury or have had recent surgery and want to get back to your activity. Musculoskeletal pains are common impediments to being active. They are additionally a common complaint among those who find themselves suddenly idle.

We’ve found that compliance with “shelter in place” results in extended periods of inactivity. Symptoms return, and the tendency is to treat the resulting aches and stiffness with ibuprofen and other painkillers. It’s important to remember that movement is therapeutic, and that you are in control. We can help you with the correct mobility, stretching, or strengthening exercises and can even help with postural solutions if you’re working from home.

To make sure Californians can access necessary medical care, the California Department of Managed Health Care has required healthcare plans to cover telehealth visits just as they would for in-person visits (https://www.dmhc.ca.gov/). If your rehabilitation with us has been interrupted by concerns of COVID-19, don’t lose the gains you have made. Call us for a telehealth appointment.

What we are doing:

We are taking the following precautions to reduce the chance of exposure to you or family when you visit our clinic:

1. Insisting all staff and patients wash their hands for 20 seconds with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizers upon arriving and before leaving the clinic. Antibacterial soap is available at all sinks and hand sanitizers are available throughout the clinic. We follow this video from the CDC on how and when to wash our hands and suggest that our patients do the same: https://www.cdc.gov/cdctv/healthyliving/hygiene/fight-germs-wash-hands.html

2. Cleaning equipment, surfaces and door knobs with hospital grade disinfectant.

3. Providing a private entrance to large private treatment rooms if needed. You don’t have to spend time in the waiting area.

What you can do:

We encourage you to follow the CDC guidelines of washing your hands for at least 20 seconds. Avoiding touching your eyes, nose or mouth will minimize the risk of infection. If you need to cough or sneeze, cough into your elbow or facial tissue. Also, the WHO is now recommending that you avoid taking ibuprofen or other NSAIDs for symptoms related to COVID-19 as this may worsen a viral infection.

If you have questions about your fitness, give us a call. You are not alone. PTLG is here; we’ve got your back.
